Crab cakes and slaw

 

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas.

What's on your menu tonight?

 

Our meal plan for the week includes:

Monday: Sauteed Butterball smoked turkey sausage, green peppers, onions and mushrooms served on rice with a side of clementines.

Tuesday: Chicken enchiladas, corn, salad

Wednesday: Crab cakes on rolls with lettuce and tomato, cole slaw, grapes

Thursday: Baked ziti, garlic bread, salad

Friday: Homemade veggie pizza, steamed broccoli

    Well, last night we had my Nana's mince recipe (sort of hamburger and onion stew) over mashed potatoes with French cut string beans. The last of any veg in the house.

    The night before was breakfast for dinner - pancakes and breakfast sausage links. I bought a large electric griddle about a year ago, and it has been wonderful for making pancakes. So much easier than in a frying pan, and DW and I actually get to eat hot pancakes at the same time! What a concept! ;)

    Tonight's menu remains to be seen. The only thing I can think of is baked ziti or stuffed shells.

    Melissa, thanks for mentioning the asparagus. I want to get some while it's still on sale at HT. Your Friday fish dinner sounds delicious. What kind of fish do you make?

    Melissa, it sounds like you have a great meal plan for the week! My kids would love the taco pockets.

    We are having chicken quesadillas tonight, meatballs and marinara (slow cooker) over noodles or in a hoagie tomorrow and that is far as I've gotten :). Will probably due something meatless on Wednesday and taco pockets (taco meat, cheese, salsa baked between two buttermilk biscuits) on Thursday and I almost always do fish on Friday. The fish will be served with the asparagus I picked up today and baked potato. I guess I do have a plan!
