Weekly meal plan and Monday dinners

Posted December 8, 2014

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas.

What's on your menu tonight?

Our meal plan for the week includes:

Meatless Monday: Bagels and cream cheese with tomatoes and onions.  Sides of cole slaw and fruit salad (cantaloupe, raspberries and blackberries on sale at Harris Teeter through Tuesday)

Tuesday: Chicken Philly sandwiches with sauteed onions and peppers, sweet potato fries, steamed broccoli (chicken $1.99/lb at Kroger, carrots good every day price at Harris Teeter)

Wednesday: Beef stew in the slow cooker with potatoes, carrots, onions and mushrooms (beef stew bought marked down last week and put in freezer). Sides of rolls and clementines.

Thursday: Chicken alfredo, green salad, leftover rolls from night before.

Friday: Pizza night! Homemade veggie pizzas, vegetable tray with various cut veggies and light ranch dressing for dipping.

I understand. I've had to pay the emergency after hours Vet hospital before. You are right, they will probably be back some time next year.

Awe man ascherer that's an amazing deal.....but with everything going on with momma pup, Christmas, and my sis coming down the week before Christmas, we just cannot fit $60 into our budget :( thanks for letting me know though. I'm sire they will be back next year and Rae will be able to enjoy it then.

Thanks everyone for the momma's well wishes. She is finally home and resting.

jdouglas-YAY you are home!!! Enjoy your mac and cheese ;)

ascherer-I would LOVE to take Rae to see Frozen on ice, I been searching for tickets since I found out they were coming and now the radio station I listen is giving them away and I've called a gazillion times to try to win, but nothing. Its ok maybe next time. We have tickets to the Pullen Park Polar Express this Sunday and I am sure she will love that!

Now I've gotta come up with a cool birthday party idea for NC, we were going to do ice skating in buffalo, maybe we can do the same thing here.......all ideas welcome ;)

jdouglas- glad you are safely home. Enjoy the mac & cheese.

DH has a meeting tonight. So I made egg salad and had a sandwich. I still have over 2 dozen eggs in the fridge.

    Wow, so much going on!

Raesmom, I'm so sorry about your mama dog and her pups. I think vet bills are worse than human medical bills sometimes. I would be honored to do anything I can to help make Rae's local BD party a huge success. Just name it.

Faye, congrats on your new driver! Very exciting times indeed. :)

I have not heard of the 100 Foot Journey, but the TV I've been seeing for the last almost two months has been dominated by all things football, girls college basketball, and cowboy oldies from 7 am to midnight, so I probably missed the promos.

I finally arrived home this afternoon, so y'all know what I'm having for dinner tonight. I don't even need to mention it, do I? Glad to be back. :)
