Weekly meal plan and Monday dinners

Posted December 1, 2014

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas.

What's on your menu tonight?

Our meal plan for the week includes:

Monday:  Crab cakes, cole slaw, rolls, creamed spinach, apple slices

Tuesday: Pot roast cooked in the slow cooker (roast marked down at HT last week) with mushrooms, onions and carrots. Sides of mashed potates, steamed broccoli florets, and French bread.

Wednesday: Butterball turkey sausage sauteed with mushrooms, green peppers and onions served on Mahatma saffron rice. Side of steamed baby carrots with butter and Parmesan.

Thursday: Spinach, mushroom and cheese quesadillas (topped with diced tomatoes, avocado slices, salsa and lettuce), Spanish rice, corn

Friday: Pizza night! Homemade veggie pizzas with sides of orange slices

RALEIGHFOODBLOGGER, good luck with your gumbo - don't hear much about people making it around here. I am from south LA and gumbo is a 'staple' for us during the winter months, especially, even though we make it all year. Maybe I'll come join you!! ;-)

Tonight we are having Paula Deen's Goulash. The hamburger was a manager special today. The diced tomatoes and tomato sauce was on sale. The pasta was on sale. We just needed something that was not Thanksgiving food. ;-)

I did pick up a ham at Kroger today. They were still on sale. Not great but better than full price. There will be a lot of ham in our future. Thank goodness for freezers.

LOL how funny.....well Princess is right there with your dog, she is the queen of the house (next to Rae of course) but the hunting dogs belogged to DH's dad who passed 2 years ago and left the dogs to none other than my DH........I was not thrilled. We have three (1 boy, 2 girls), and one of the girls is expecting any day now.........still not thrilled LOL

Raesmom- I didn't know you have hunting dogs- very cool! The most my dog "hunts" is about 8 feet away from his bed (aka the couch) in our kitchen lol!

Faye- :-) I'll trade you a crab cake for a bowl of stew... and actually, creamed spinach is one of my favorites too!
