Garlic shrimp and turkey bacon on green salad


Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas.

What's on your menu tonight?

As you can see in the photo above, last night we had garlic shrimp and turkey bacon on green salad with a light Italian dressing. So delicious!

Here is our menu plan for the week:

Meatless Monday: Grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup and side salad

Tuesday: Chicken and pasta bake with sides of steamed broccoli and Sister Shubert rolls

Wednesday:  Chicken teriyaki with stir fry veggies and brown rice

Thursday:  Garlic shrimp with sauteed red peppers, tomatoes, onions and mushrooms on linguine

Friday:  Veggie pizza with side salad

    Tonight is a frozen pizza doctored with all the additional toppings we like. Hopefully I will be more creative tomorrow.

    Cookiemonster - thanks! It tasted great! I picked up some McCormick salad topping today and I am looking forward to having it on my salad tonight. It has sunflower seeds, soy crisps, bacon bits, etc.

    So it looks like we are continuing our trend from the last couple weeks of not cooking much at all. Tonight my MIL is taking us out to dinner. Tomorrow night my mother is taking us out to dinner. Wednesday we are having fajitas. We're using some leftover roast from Mother's Day yesterday. Slicing it up with some onions, peppers, squash and zucchini. Seasoned and served in corn tortillas with the free Lilly sour cream from HT a couple weeks ago. Thursday and Friday night I'm on my own which usually means a salad topped with whatever we have in the fridge. Simple this week.

    Sausage pasta using tomato basil sausage from sale at Aldi's the other week. Adding some sliced peppers and onions with fresh spinach. All from Aldi's. Throw in a box of pasta from the cabinet, some chicken broth and a can of diced tomatoes. Sliced strawberries and kiwi on the side. Left over chocolate chip cake for dessert.
