Weekend Plans: Pumpkin Patch Express, Disney Live, food truck rodeos

All of the corn mazes, pumpkin patches and haunted trails are open (barring weather issues), including the Museum of Life and Science’s Pumpkin Patch Express.

Disney Live! Mickey and Minnie’s Doorway to Magic stops in Durham for two shows - 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., Saturday, at the Durham Performing Arts Center. The show features lots of favorite Disney characters, including Cinderella, Snow White, Aladdin’s Genie and more. Tickets start at $25 and there are some tickets left for both shows - at last check.

We have two consignment sales - Designer Consignors in Cary with clothes, accessories and more for women, along with Kidcycle in Durham, with all kinds of clothes, toys and gear for kids.

My First Mud Run is 10 a.m., Sunday, in Raleigh. The Triangle Run/Walk for Autism is Saturday in downtown Raleigh. And the Walk for Hope is Sunday morning at the Angus Barn and includes a one-mile nature hike for families. It raises money for mental health research and treatment.

Logan’s, the garden shop in downtown Raleigh, will host a harvest day for kids from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday. Activities include pumpkin painting (until 1 p.m.) and games and tractor rides. There also will be a family photo booth.

The Ellerbe Creek Nature Tour is 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, at various points in Durham, including the beaver marsh preserve where kids can explore the preserve’s beaver pond. It’s free.

If you’re looking to start your holiday shopping, you can start at the Bazaar Craft & Art Market in Carrboro. It’s noon to 5 p.m., Sunday, at the Carrboro Commons.

And we have food trucks. Downtown Cary’s Food and Flea is noon to 4 p.m., Sunday. Downtown Raleigh’s massive food truck rodeo is 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday.

One update: The Pullen Park Pumpkin Patch Bash, which was scheduled for this weekend, will now be 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Oct. 15, at the park near downtown Raleigh because of the stormy weather in the forecast. On that day, visitors can pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, watch a magician and balloon artist and try a variety of carnival games and crafts. Pumpkins will be available for purchase while supplies last. Starting at 7 p.m., the park will screen a family-friendly movie.
