Paperhand Puppet Intervention "Of Wings and Feet"
Happy weekend! As always, check WRAL.com’s Out & About calendar for more weekend activities. And our list of 41 summer fun activities include lots of ideas to keep you busy.

Here’s some family-friendly weekend fun …

Paperhand Puppet Intervention’s 18th annual summer show starts Friday at Forest Theatre and runs on select days through Labor Day. Then, it moves over to Raleigh for shows at the N.C. Museum of Art. The show, a family favorite for years, is new each year and features puppets of all kinds and sciences, live music and story.
Booth Amphitheatre in Cary will screen “Finding Dory,” at 8:30 p.m., Friday. Tickets are $5 and free for kids 12 and under. Gates open at 7 p.m. Be sure to bring blankets and chairs. Picnics are welcome.
Marbles hosts its Family Science Olympiad from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, at the downtown Raleigh museum. Build rockets and pasta bridges, investigate the eclipse, explore matter and learn more about earthquakes and volcanoes. This is held in partnership with the N.C. Science Olympiad. It’s free with admission, which is $5 per person.
Seed Art Share offers its Night at the City of Raleigh Museum with shows at 4 p.m., 5:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Saturday. Tickets are $10 for all ages. It’s best for ages 6 and up. Here’s a description: “Sir Walter Raleigh is teaming up with Sammy the Squirrel – the City of Raleigh Museum mascot – to uncover local legends of buried treasure, stolen artifacts, and political shenanigans. The 90-minute experience includes a scavenger hunt in the museum, craft, and interactive performance.
The N.C. Museum of Art will host free family tours at 10:30 a.m., Saturday and Sunday. This weekend, tours will look out for animals that appear in art in the new African art galleries.
N.C. Courage, the professional women’s soccer team, has a 7:30 p.m., Saturday, game at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.
And the Carolina Mudcats in Zebulon have home games at 5 p.m., Saturday, and 2 p.m., Sunday. Saturday is Muddy the Mudcat’s birthday and a school supply drive. Fans who bring in three or more school supplies will get FREE admission to the game. Sunday is a Bark in the Park game. Admission for fans with a dog is $7 per ticket. Canine tickets are an additional $5 for dogs of all sizes. Proceeds from the $5 canine tickets will benefit the SPCA of Wake County.
