After some slow weekends on the family fun front, this one has a few more options. As always, check WRAL.com’s Out  & About calendar for more activities.

There’s the Dollar Book Exchange in Raleigh. I have not been to this, but friends sing its praises. The monthly sale features more than 300,000 books, according to its Facebook page. All books are $1. Fill a grocery bag of children’s books and pay $10. It’s 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday. It takes place at 4001 Atlantic Ave., Raleigh.
And Cameron’s, a Carrboro store with unique gifts and clothing, will donate 15 percent of all of its in-store sales to miraclefeet, an amazing Carrboro-based organization that provides clubfoot treatment to children in developing countries. The fundraiser is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the store at 370 E. Main St. It might make for a fun moms night out.
Sky Zone Durham next to Northgate Mall will hold a grand opening celebration on Saturday. If you’re over there, you also can check out the annual Cub Scout Pinewood Derby for the Durham District of the Boy Scouts of America. It’s 10 a.m. to 3 p.., Saturday, at Northgate Mall Center Court. Program highlights of this interactive, hour-long concert for all ages include Percy Aldridge Grainger’s “Children’s March,” John Wasson’s “Curtain Call,” Rossano Galante’s “The Redwoods” and Sir Henry Wood’s “Fantasia on British Sea-Songs.” At 3 p.m., kids can participate in an instrument petting zoo where they can check out a variety of instruments. Concert goers will get kazoos to play during the show. Kids may also be invited on stage. Tickets are $8.
And The Cary Theater, 122 E. Chatham St., will show the PG-rated and animated “Happy Feet,” at 10 a.m. , Saturday. Tickets are $5. A concession stand sells popcorn, snacks and drinks. The theater is at 122 E. Chatham St., Cary.
The National Association of Asian American Professionals of Research Triangle Park will host a half-day parenting conference from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Feb. 7, at Brooks Avenue Church in Raleigh.
And thank you Cary of N.C. Social Butterflies for reminding me about this one: Celebrity Dairy in Siler City is teeming with more than 50 baby goats. And you can check them out during Open Barn Days. They are noon to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. There will be food and crafts for sale. It’s free, but they do ask that people considering donating to Heifer International. Sounds adorable!
