Happy weekend! Here’s what’s happening on the weekend family fun front. As always, check WRAL.com’s Out & About calendar for more ideas. And don't forget our list of 41 FREE summer break activities.
We have blueberries! The crop was hit hard this year, thanks to a late March frost, but there are still plenty of farms in the area with blueberries to pick. (Just check ahead before you go). We list more than a dozen farms that have berries now. This weekend, two will be celebrating the blueberry. In Bunn, Vollmer Farm will host a Blueberry Festival from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday. Mill Stone Creek Orchards in Ramseur has a Very Berry Celebration this weekend and next weekend.

Family-friendly outdoor movies will be on the big screen this weekend. (Because of licensing agreements, Apex and Wake Forest can't advertise the names of the movies they’ll be showing, but you can call ahead to check).

The Durham Bulls will host a Touch A Truck event from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday. It’s before the team’s 5:05 p.m. game against the Charlotte Knights. (Kids can run the bases after Sunday’s games). During the Touch a Truck event, kids can explore more than 15 vehicles from local agencies, including an investigations truck, hazardous materials unit, rescue truck and more. It will be on Blackwell Street outside the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and is open to the public.
Wendell will host a Big Truck Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, at the corner of Main and Campen streets.
Ackland Art Museum will host a free Family and Friends Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Explore fab fabrics, cool quilts and woven tops that wow. You also can check out the museum’s giant spinning tops.
