Festivals

Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival - Nestled under the shady canopy of Bond Park, Spring Daze's Saturday festival features over 170 North Carolina artists, entertainment on four stages, delicious festival food and Cary's annual Earth Day Celebration.
Art of Cool Festival - The three-day festival explores jazz, soul and hip hop at various venues in downtown Durham. Headliners this year include George Clinton, Common, Rakim and Terrace Martin.
Midtown Music Festival - This third annual concert will also feature food trucks, craft beer, a vendor village and more fun at Midtown Park at North Hills on Saturday. General admission to the concert is free to the public.
Fayetteville Dogwood Festival - The city's marquee event is also one of the biggest in the Southeast, featuring a midway/carnival, food vendors, live entertainment, inflatable/bounce houses, arts and crafts, a classic car show, a street fair with shopping and lots more fun. The event runs Friday through Sunday and will feature headliners Parmalee, Winger and Skid Row, and DieDra.

Trophy Brewing Taste & Talk - On Saturday at 3 p.m., Mattie B’s Public House will be hosting Josh Wing, Head Pub Brewer of Trophy Brewing in Raleigh, as he discusses craft beer and Trophy’s approach to small batch brewing. Tickets include five tasting pours of Trophy Wife IPA, Trophy Husband Farmhouse Ale and three experimental beers from the Little Trophy small batch production facility as well as two slices of collaborative pizza.

Glenwood South Wing Fling - This second annual event will be held behind the Raleigh Beer Garden on Saturday. Ten local restaurants will be serving up their wings to see who has the best in town. There will also be live music. Tickets are $10 in advance.
Hook and Vine - This seafood and wine festival will feature five dishes paired with five wines. The event is Sunday afternoon at The Wine Feed. Tickets are $40 or $50 for VIP.
Raleigh Raw Block Party - This raw juice cafe will be celebrating the one year anniversary of its storefront opening in downtown Raleigh with a block party and basketball tournament.
Brewer's Challenge - Some of the best breweries in Wake County have been challenged to make a single-hopped beer using only Cascade hops. The catch? No IPAs, no Pale Ales and they have to gather at Oak and Dagger in Raleigh on Saturday to see who wins. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

SPCA K9-3K Dog Walk and Woofstock - This annual event brings animal lovers together for a fun walk and day of festivities to help the SPCA of Wake County care for thousands of lost, abandoned, abused and unwanted pets, giving them a second chance at happiness in a forever home. The walk will be held at Booth Amphitheatre in Cary on Saturday. In addition to the 3K, there will also be live music, beer and wine, food trucks, pet contests and more fun.

Wyatt's Pup Crawl - This pub crawl on Saturday will help raise money to treat Wyatt, a dog who was diagnosed with Mega E., a serious digestive condition that requires surgery. Things kick off at London Bridge Pub before you hit up four dog-friendly spots. Tickets are $15.

Imagination Ball - This grown-up gala at Marbles Kids Museum Saturday night will help benefit the Imagination Fun at Marbles. Tickets start at $60.
Beauty and the Brawn - Bull McCabe's Irish Pub in Durham will host this event on Sunday. There will be a men's beard and mustache competition and a women's arm wrestling competition. Proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Durham's Women Build.

Wine to Water Wine Tasting - This spring wine tasting will be held Saturday at Little City Brewing in Raleigh. There is a $20 suggested donation per person. Funds go to raise awareness and funds for clean water projects around the world.
Beers for Beagles - Triangle Beagle Rescue of North Carolina will be holding a fundraiser on Sunday at Lonerider Brewery. In addition to the usual Lonerider favorites, you will be able to sample beagle inspired brews (peanut butter Josie?). One dollar from each pint sold will be donated to the beagles.
Joey O Bocce Classic - In its 10th year, this bocce competition helps raise money for Cystic Fibrosis research. It is named in honor of Joe O'Connell of Cary who passed away from complications from Cystic Fibrosis in November 2009. This year's tournament is Sunday at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh.

St. Baldrick's Fundraiser - West 94th Street Pub will host its 7th annual fundraiser to help fund childhood cancer research on Sunday. The event will include a 5K, fun run and head shaving.

Trevor Noah - The host of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning program The Daily Show on Comedy Central will play DPAC Friday night.
