Weekend best bets: Spring Daze, food truck rodeo

RALEIGH, N.C. — The weather is heating up and so is the list of outdoor event and concerts in the Triangle. Here are eight things to do in the Triangle this weekend:
Spring Daze - Bond Metro Park in Cary will be the site of this arts and crafts festival on Saturday. There will be four stages of entertainment, lots of food vendors and work from more than 180 North Carolina artisans.
Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo - Head to Fayetteville Street on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. for the first rodeo of the season. There will be more than 50 of your favorite trucks on hand. Admission is free. Be sure to swing by Cousins Main Lobster truck and congratulate them on one-year in business in the Triangle. And get one of those tasty lobster rolls.
TABLE Food Truck Rodeo - This food truck rodeo at Orange United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill on Saturday will help raise money for TABLE, a nonprofit that provides healthy, emergency food aid to hungry children in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Saturday afternoon's rodeo will feature food trucks, bounce houses, relay races, face painting and games.
Faire's Oyster Roast - This southern-style oyster roast is Saturday afternoon at the Cameron Village restaurant. There will be bluegrass music, craft beer and wine offerings. The event will also serve as a fundraiser for Band Together NC.
Glenwood South Wing Fling - Head to the event space next to Raleigh Beer Garden for this chicken wing competition on Saturday. Ten local restaurants will be serving up their wings in a judged contest to see who has the best wings in town. Your ticket will get you two wings at each station, so you can help determine the winner.
Counter Culture Coffee - Go to the grand opening of their new Durham location on Saturday. Take a tour, taste the coffee and learn all about home brewing.
Gala in the Garden - The J.C. Raulston Arboretum holds its annual fundraiser on Sunday. Enjoy music, food and the beautiful gardens starting at 3:30 p.m. The silent auction will also have some great items available including a spa day at The Umstead. Tickets are $100 per person.
Durham Art Walk Spring Market - More than 30 Durham businesses will be participating in this weekend's market, which will feature more than 200 visual artists. Events will also include live music.

Widespread Panic - The rock band will be playing Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh on Saturday.

Snarky Puppy - This Brooklyn-based instrumental fusion band has the best band name we've ever heard. See them Sunday evening at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
Midtown Music Fest - Head to Midtown Park in North Hills for a day of music on Saturday. The event runs 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will also feature food trucks, craft beer and local vendors.
Kawehi - This independent artist from Hawaii is known as a "one-woman band" creating loops via beatboxing, a guitar and a mini keyboard. See her at Cat's Cradle Friday night.
Piff the Magic Dragon - He amazed Penn and Teller on their show "Fool Us." and he got the judges of "America's Got Talent" talking too. Now, see this comedian and magic dragon at Goodnights Comedy Club in Raleigh this weekend.
