RALEIGH, N.C. — Lots of holiday events happening this weekend! Here are our picks for which ones to check out:
Santa Pub Crawl for Cancer - This 12th annual event starts at 9 p.m. Saturday at the Hibernian on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. Everyone should arrive in holiday attire - Santa costumes, Gingerbread Men, etc. The crawl will go to Lucky B's and Noir. The event is free, but it is a fundraiser for Brain Tumor Research. Last year's event raised more than $15,000.
Yelp's Holiday Bazaar - Our friends at Yelp are holding their first holiday shopping extravaganza Saturday at The Cotton Room in Durham. From 2-6 p.m., enjoy some of the area's best offerings - from crafts to food to clothing. There will even be a DIY S'more bar and popcorn. The event is free but there is a suggested $5 donation to the Ronald McDonald House of Durham.
Historic Oakwood Candlelight Tour - This is your chance to walk through the interior of some of the historic homes in Oakwood. There will be 13 properties decked out for the holidays! Tours are Saturday and Sunday from 1-7 p.m. Tickets are $30.
Parades: Cary, Wake Forest and Chapel Hill are just a few places holding Christmas parades this weekend. Get a full list of holiday parades from Go Ask Mom
Winter Wonderland at Midtown Park - Head to North Hills' Midtown Park in Raleigh on Saturday evening for two holiday screenings. First up, the classic "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and then the new classic "Elf." There will be fun activities for the family and more! Admission is free.
Magical Winter Lights at Park West Village - This fantastic light show starts Friday night in front of Stone Theatre Park West 14. Shows will run nightly every 15 minutes with real falling snow! On the weekends, there will be free train rides, carolers, hot chocolate, and story time with Santa in the theatre lobby. Everything starts this Friday evening at 5:30 p.m.

Performances

The Santaland Diaries - This annual play chronicles the holiday season through the eyes of Crumpet the Elf! It is full of charged, politically incorrect and irreverent commentaries. Definitely leave the children at home for this how! Tickets start at $16 and the show runs at the Theatre in the Park this weekend and next.
A Christmas Carol - Ira David Wood III's reprises his role as Scrooge in this annual holiday classic. The show runs at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium through Sunday. Tickets start at $30.
Disney on Ice: Frozen - This highly anticipated show will be at PNC Arena through Sunday. Tickets start at $20.
Raleigh Ringers - The Raleigh Ringers, an internationally acclaimed handbell choir, play special holiday concerts at Meymandi Concert Hall Sunday and Monday. Tickets start at $18.
