Crawls for a Cause

Raleigh Santa Crawl - NC Event Pics will hold this crawl through downtown Raleigh on Friday night. Things start at My Way Tavern at 7 p.m., and participants will travel to six clubs throughout the evening. The event will benefit special needs children.
Puppy Christmas Crawl - City Social hosts this event to help raise money for the SPCA of Wake County. Tickets are $20 in advance and include giveaways, drink specials and a complimentary craft beer at Raleigh Beer Garden and a complimentary shot at Cornerstone Tavern. Pets are welcome to join the fun. The crawl kicks off at 1 p.m. at Raleigh Beer Garden.

Food and drink

Winter Warmer Cask Fest - Nickelpoint Brewing Company hosts this event on Saturday to benefit Toys for Toys of Raleigh. Sample unique casks from 11 North Carolina breweries, join in the ugly sweater contest and have more fun. Tickets are $15 in advance and $30 at the door.
Cookies and Cocktails - Park West Village has two of our favorite things this weekend. They will be pairing eight festive specialty cocktails with a homemade cookie station for a holiday-inspired tasting event on Saturday starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are still available.
Tonya's Cookies - Pecan Chocolate Crisp
Christmas Favorites Wine Tasting - Head to Taylor's Wine Shop in Raleigh for this free tasting event Friday night starting at 6:30 p.m.
Fugly Sweater Party - Milk Bar hosts this event Friday night to help raise money for A Child's Place, which helps homeless children in the state. Show up in your ugliest sweater and enjoy specialty cocktails and enter to win prizes.
Tacky Sweater Party - Gizmo Brew Works hosts this holiday celebration Friday night. There will be live music and King's Authentic Philly Cheesesteaks.
Beer and Christmas Cookies - Bottlemixx hosts this event Friday night. Try four different pairings with cookies from Lucettegrace in downtown Raleigh.

Plates Neighborhood Holiday Party - Enjoy live music and delicious shareables at Plates Kitchen Saturday afternoon during the restaurant's fourth annual holiday party.
Pop-Up Raleigh - Pop-Up Raleigh is downtown Raleigh’s original monthly vintage market. Get your shopping done at Trophy on Maywood Saturday starting at noon.

On stage

The Dangling Loafer - This month's local comedy show features Lauren Faber, Sam Mazany, Shane Smith, Adam Cohen and more. The show starts at 8 p.m. Friday at Kings.
Deep South Entertainment Holiday Party - On Saturday night, enjoy music from 120 minutes (a 1990s tribute band) and Runaway Cab. Enjoy free admission before 9 p.m.
Raleigh Little Theatre presents Cinderella
Cinderella - Raleigh Little Theatre presents this musical comedy that is just the right mix of holiday sugarplum for the whole family. This is your final weekend to check it out.
Delta Rae - The band teams up with Penny and Sparrow Sunday night at Lincoln Theatre.
Ian Bagg - He has appeared on Comedy Central, HBO, Showtime and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." See him at Goodnights Comedy Club Thursday through Saturday.
Slippery When Wet - The Bon Jovi tribute band plays The Ritz Friday night.

Star Wars Pin Up Burlesque - Timed perfectly with the release of "Rogue One" this weekend, this burlesque show will feature a variety of talented performers Friday night at Southland Ballroom.
Yarn - The band will join Dune Dogs at Lincoln Theatre Saturday night.
Scrapiversary - The Scrap Exchange will be celebrating 25 years in business with a celebration on Friday. There will be lots of fun activities, including carnival games, costume making and craft projects. Cake, beer, wine, popcorn and other food will be served.

Holiday events

Tis the Season - City Market will be highlighting how other cultures celebrate the holidays on Sunday starting at noon. The event will feature a Makers' Market with live music, local artisans and international tastes and treats.

Black Nativity by Langston Hughes - The Justice Theater Project brings back this family holiday classic for another year. With a cast of 75, new solos and every changing choreography and costumes, revel this multicultural Christmas show. Shows run Saturday through Monday at N.C. State's Stewart Theatre. Tickets start at $18.
Raleigh Rings Holiday Concerts - The Triangle's own internationally-acclaimed hand bell ensemble presents its annual holiday concerts at Meymandi Concert Hall on Saturday and Sunday.
Theatre in the Park's A Christmas Carol - Ira David Wood III's beloved musical comedy, A Christmas Carol, celebrates its 42nd Anniversary this year. See it this weekend at Durham Performing Arts Center.
Audiences enjoy the sighs and sounds of "A Christmas Carol," which is celebrating its 40th year in Raleigh.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical - The beloved TV classic gets the musical treatment this holiday season. See it through Christmas Eve at Fletcher Opera Theater.

The Santaland Diaries - Crumpet the Elf relives his tale of his brief stint working at Macy's "Santaland" attraction in New York City in this Theatre in the Park production. Shows run through Saturday.
