Weekend best bets: Rascal Flatts, Smashing Pumpkins

— It's a busy weekend in the Triangle and here are out picks to keep you busy:

Live music

Rascal Flatts - The country band will rock Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh Sunday night with special guest Scotty McCreery.

Smashing Pumpkins and Marilyn Manson - The alternative band and goth rock star will play sets at Red Hat Amphitheater Sunday night.

Will Downing - The R&B singer plays Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh Friday night.

Habitat Bull Moon Ride and Run - This 9th annual event is Saturday and features a 12-miles bike ride and a simultaneous 5K run/walk through downtown Durham. The fundraiser ends at Durham Bulls Athletic Park with food, beer and entertainment.

For the foodies

50 Shades of Food - This 50 course tasting experience will happen Friday starting at 6:30 p.m. at Aviator Brewing in Fuquay-Varina. Individual tickets are $50 and it is $95 for couples.

Chatham Street Chowdown - There will be 15 local food trucks, and a beer and wine garden at this event in downtown Cary. The fun starts at 5 p.m.

Movie and Food Truck - Raleigh Little Theatre and Raleigh Brewing are teaming up to offer free outdoor movies the next few Sundays at the Stephenson Amphitheatre. This Sunday, "Street Car Named Desire" will be shown. There will be team trivia before the screening and the Arepa Culture food truck will be on hand.

On stage

The Buddy Holly Story - NC Theatre's musical about the famous singer plays Raleigh Memorial Auditorium through Sunday.

Dreamgirls - This production of the popular musical is part of the Theatre Raleigh's Hot Summer Nights Series. It wraps up its run at Kennedy Theatre this weekend.
