RALEIGH, N.C. — This Valentine's Day weekend, there are a lot of events to choose from. Make sure to check out our list of Valentine's Day events in the Triangle.

Our best bets for this weekend include these events that get you moving:

Polar Plunge - Take the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Saturday afternoon at N.C. State's Centennial Campus' Lake Raleigh. Registration starts at 3:30 p.m. followed by a 5K fun run and the plunge at 5 p.m.
Chocolate 5K - Saturday's race is a benefit for the Cornucopia Cancer Support Center. There will be some sweet chocolate treats along the route, which starts at Southern Community Park in Chapel Hill.
Cupid Run - This 5K run/walk kicks off at 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning at Knightdale Station. The participant fee is $15.
Run for the Roses - One of the oldest 5K’s in the Triangle, the Run for the Roses (where all female 5K finishers receive a rose) offers a fun-filled afternoon for the family to raise money to benefit Canines for Service, an organization which trains service dogs for people with limited mobility and Team Red, White and Blue NC, an organization with the mission to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity. The run is Sunday starting at 2 p.m. at the Dorthea Dix Campus.

On Stage

Grease - North Carolina Theatre's production of "Grease" plays Raleigh Memorial Auditorium through Sunday. The show features Broadway star John Arthur Greene, originally from Raleigh, as Danny Zuko.
Carly Rae Jepsen - The singer/songwriter brings her Gimme Love Tour to The Ritz in Raleigh Friday night. Tickets are $25.
The Shakedown hosts a Mardi Gras Party - Head to Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh Friday night for this show/ The band will be playing some New Orleans funk and R&B. They will be joined by Al Strong and his jazz ensemble for a set of New Orleans jazz. Part of the proceeds of the night will go to The Art of Cool Project, a Durham-based non-profit whose mission is to expand the jazz audience in the Triangle by presenting, promoting and preserving jazz-influenced music. Tickets start at $12.
Kid Cudi - The hip hop artist plays the Ritz in Raleigh Saturday night. Advance tickets are $45.
Flash Chorus - There will be a special Flash Chorus Saturday on the roof of the Durham Hotel. Selections include "All of Me" by John Legend. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. (Note: This event has been postponed.)
Kings Valentine's Day Bash - Head to Kings Barcade Sunday for this all-ages show featuring Wool, Wing Dam and Faye. Tickets are $7
The Passion of Flamenco - Celebrate Valentine's Day in style when Flamenco Vivo brings The Passion of Flamenco back to Motorco Music Hall Friday through Sunday. Experience all the romance and power of flamenco, performed in an intimate tablao (cafe-style) setting, with dance and live music by the company's internationally-acclaimed artists, along with food and holiday drink specials.
The Defiant Thomas Brothers - The Defiant Thomas Brothers are known for their commanding stage presence, commitment to character and timing, and ability to mine laughs all along the sensitivity spectrum. See them at the Carrboro ArtsCenter Saturday night.
Gary Gulman - The comic, who has appeared on Showtime and Comedy Central, will play Goodnights Comedy Club in Raleigh Friday through Sunday.

For the foodies

Boricua Soul for Soul Food - Head to Fullsteam Brewery in Durham on Saturday for this tasty afternoon celebrating Soul Food and its history with James Beard Award winning author and Soul Food scholar, Adrian Miller.
Food and Flea - Downtown Cary Food and Flea is Sunday in Ashworth Village in downtown Cary. The event features local fine artists, craft makers, vintage finds, local craft beer, edible goods, music, food trucks and more.
A Chocolate Affaire - This fundraiser for the Cornucopia Cancer Support Center will include an auction and decadent desserts. The event is Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Sheraton in Chapel Hill. Tickets are $60 per person.
Sola Coffee Valentine's Pop Up Market - Join more than 30 local artisan designers selling amazing handcrafted gifts, clothing, jewelry, ceramics, leather, T-Shirts, signs, candles, scarves and other unique finds at Sola Coffee on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
