Weekend Best Bets: Patty on the Green, Art in Bloom

A St. Patrick's Day celebration in north Raleigh and a festival of art and flowers at the N.C. Museum of Art are all happening this weekend.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Our picks for what to do this weekend:
Patty on the Green - This St. Patrick's Day Irish Festival will take place at Lafayette Village in north Raleigh on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy live music, activities and learn about Irish culture.
Art in Bloom - The N.C. Museum of Art will be hosting a series of events this weekend in conjunction with its festival of art and flowers. Master classes, wine tastings and more will be going on.

More Family Fun

Disney Magic Show - Mickey, Minnie and the rest of the Disney gang will perform live on stage at DPAC this weekend. "Disney Live! Mickey's Magic Show" runs Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tickets start at $25.
Durham Arts Council Children's Festival - This free event will include food, interactive activities, entertainment and kid-friendly artists and performers. It all happens 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Northgate Mall in Durham.

Food and spirits

Oyster Roast at Faire - The Cameron Village restaurant is hosting this southern-style oyster roast starting at 1 p.m. Saturday. There will be live jazz music from the Doug Largent Trio and Lonerider Brewing is creating a special beer for the event. Tickets are $45 each and include dinner, a beverage ticket and tax and gratuity.
Jack Daniels Tasting Event - Rye Bar and Southern Kitchen in Raleigh will be hosting this four course dinner that touches on all the flavors of the Jack Daniels family. The dinner is 7 p.m. Saturday and tickets are $70 a person.

Enjoy the outdoors

Wild Yonder's "Rock Your Nox Off" Equinox Party - This goat roast and camp dance will take place at Spruce Pine Lodge in Bahama starting at 6 p.m. Friday. There will be a DJ and Chef Matthew Kelly of Vin Rouge/Mateo will be preparing the goat. Tickets are $55 a person.
All-American Marathon/Mike-to-Mike Half Marathon/5K - The City of Fayetteville and Fort Bragg will be hosting this event at Festival Park on Sunday morning.

Live music

Yesterday & Today: The Interactive Beatles Tribute - Through laughter and personal stories, the McGuigan Brothers bring the music of the Beatles to life at the Clayton Center this Friday night. Tickets are $25.
Get the Led Out - "The American Led Zeppelin" will play a two-hour set at DPAC Sunday night that will span the career of the legendary British super group. Tickets start at $27.
Original Stars of American Bandstand - Get ready to take a trip to the 1960s with this show Friday night at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. Hosted by pop music star Fabian, the show features 1960s legends Shirley Alston Reeves (original lead singer of The Shirelles), Brian Hyland, The Chiffons, David Somerville (original lead singer of The Diamonds & Johnny Tillotson) and more. Tickets start at $27.
Raleigh Blues Festival - This 8th annual event will include music from Mel Waiters, Klass Band, Maurice Wynn, Lenny Williams and more! The show is Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $50.
Second Line Stompers - In the mood for some jazz? Head to Irregardless in Raleigh Saturday night at 9 p.m. to hear the Second Line Stompers play their brand of New Orleans traditional jazz!
