Weekend best bets: Natural Selections, Pancakes and Booze

RALEIGH, N.C. — There is plenty going on this weekend. Here are our picks.

Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week wraps up this weekend. Don't forget to make reservations! And on Friday remember you can dine and shop. Select retailers are staying open until 9 p.m. and will be offering some great deals! Get a list of participating retailers.

Natural Selections - Enjoy this one-of-a-kind evening of beer and science among the N.C. Museum of Natural Science's dioramas. Sample unique creations fitting the museum’s natural science focus from more than 20 North Carolina breweries. Tickets are $30 for non-museum members.

Pancakes and Booze Art Show - Raleigh's largest underground art show is Friday at Lincoln Theatre. There will be pieces from more than 50 emerging artists, a free pancake bar, live art and body painting and music. The event is ages 21 and over. Tickets are $5.

Pop-up Raleigh - This monthly downtown vintage market is Saturday at Trophy Brewing on Maywood. Enjoy a mix of vendors, food trucks and tasty beer.

International Block Party - This free celebration will feature music and dance performances, local breweries and authentic cuisine from Asia, the Mediterranean, Europe and Latin America.

Keith Urban - The country star will play Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek Friday night.

Kings Local fest - Kings in downtown Raleigh hosts this celebration of local bands Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $15 for Saturday and $20 for Sunday.

O.A.R. - The band will be joined by Allen Stone and Brynn Elliott Sunday night at Red Hat Amphitheater.

Brian Wilson - He is one of popular music's most deeply revered figures, the main creative force behind some of the most cherished recordings in rock history. Indeed, it is no exaggeration to call Brian Wilson one of the most influential composers of the last century. See the former Beach Coy at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium Friday night.

Fifth Harmony - The five-piece girl group will play Red Hat Amphitheater Friday night with special guests Jake Miller and Victoria Monet.

Dirty Dub - Part live improv experiment and part DJ, this show will mix dance party grooves with haunting ballads. Party it up at the Pinhook in Durham on Sunday night. Tickets are $7.

Newsies - Direct from Broadway, this production tells the tale of a band of underdogs who become unlikely heroes when they stand up against the most powerful men in New York. See it at DPAC through Sunday.

Memphis - Raleigh Little Theatre's production of this classic will include explosive dancing and irresistible songs. Shows run through Sept. 4.

Aerial and Acrobatics show at Fullsteam - Lux Performance Arts will debut their new show, Alliance, Friday night at the Durham brewery. The show combines aerial arts, acrobatics and dance for a visually stunning performance.

The Dangling Loafer - Ryan Brown headlines this month’s local comedy show. He will be joined by Pat McLeod, Lew Morgante, John E Gray, Troy Coleman and Maddie Weiner. The show is Friday night at Kings. Tickets are $5.

Redress Fashion Show - This annual event featuring spotlights responsibly-produced fashion in the southeast. Meet the designers and enjoy the fashion Saturday night at CAM Raleigh. General admission tickets are $25.
