Weekend best bets: Egg hunts, wine and Peeps

— Some live music and egg hunts ahead this weekend.


Durham Easter - This family-oriented event includes thousands of eggs hidden during four egg hunts. There will be inflatables, family activities, face painting and food trucks. The fun starts at 2 p.m. Saturday at Durham Central Park.

Raleigh Easter - More than 50,000 eggs will be hidden in the Halifax Mall green space in downtown Raleigh for this ninth annual Easter celebration on Saturday. There will be inflatables, games, prizes, music, free balloons and seven egg hunts every half hour beginning at 10 a.m.

Adult Easter Egg Hunt - Don't let the kids have all the fun this year, grab a basket and get searching at the annual Paws4ever Adult Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. There will be hundreds of eggs filled with prizes, including cash and gift cards. The Blue Star Travelers will provide music. The event is open for those 21 years and older. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Proceeds benefit the animals at Paws4ever.

Wine and Peeps - Chatham Hill Winery in Cary hosts this event Saturday featuring pairings with the tasty Easter treat.

Aaron Carter - The former teen pop star plays Cat's Cradle main room Friday night.

Rumours - The Fleetwood Mac tribute band plays The Ritz Saturday night.

Mount Moriah - The North Carolina-based band plays Cat's Cradle Saturday night.

Elton John birthday bash - Celebrate with the Elton John and Rod Stewart tribute bands at Kings Barcade Friday night.

Lara Reed - The singer-songwriter plays Cat's Cradle's back room on Friday. Tickets start at $10.

Dan Soder - The new member of MTV2's "Guy Code" will play Goodnights Comedy Club in Raleigh this weekend. He has shows Thursday through Saturday.
