Durham Food Truck Rodeo - Durham Central Park hosts this spring food truck rodeo on Sunday afternoon. There will be tons of trucks and live music.
White Street BBQ Experience - Head to Wake Forest on Saturday for this festival featuring live music, beer from White Street Brewing and lots of barbecue.
Sweet Stacey Cakes offered a variety of cupcakes at the Durham Food Truck Rodeo. This was their Sexy Mexican cupcake, made with cayenne and cinnamon.
Toast to the Triangle - Tantalize your taste buds at the 32nd annual Toast to the Triangle! at N.C. State's McKimmon Center. Forty of the Triangle area's best restaurants and beverage providers will be providing samples. There will also be more than 100 silent auction items. Proceeds will help raise money for the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities.
Downtown Cary Food and Flea - This arts and crafts market is Sunday in downtown Cary. In addition to local vendors, there is also local craft beer and food trucks.

Hops and Shops Market - This monthly market is Saturday at Big Boss Brewing in Raleigh. It features more than 20 vendors, craft beer and food trucks.
Sola Hot Mini 5K - This annual race, hosted by Sola Coffee in north Raleigh, helps raise money for Hope For The Warriors, a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for veterans, service members and military families. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
St. Baldrick's Fundraiser - Raleigh Beer Garden hosts this shave-a-thon on Saturday to raise money in the fight against childhood cancers.
Henna night
Henna Night - Kababish Cafe, an Indian fusion restaurant in downtown Cary, is offering free Henna tattoos to all dinner guests on Friday starting at 5:30 p.m.
D3 Mac and Cheese Cook-off - Drink Drank Drunk in Raleigh is hosting a mac-n-cheese tasting and competition on Sunday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
21Marbles - Play like a kid to support all kids on Friday during this 21+ event at Marbles. There will be human foosball, throwback games, DIY designs and more.

Music, movies and theater

The Phantom of the Opera - The Broadway classic is playing Durham Performing Arts Center through Sunday. The show boasts new set designs and many special effects, in addition to its iconic music.
The Beast - The Durham Hotel hosts this monthly music series on its roof. Things kick off on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
Alexa Rose - Blue Ridge-based singer Alexa Rose plays a free show at The Bullpen in Durham Friday night.
Carolina Ballet's Bolero - Originally composed as a ballet commissioned by Russian actress and dancer Ida Rubinstein, Boléro, which premiered in 1928, is Ravel’s most famous musical composition. See it at Fletcher Opera Theatre through March 25.
Bowie Ball - For this sixth annual event on Saturday, the Lincoln Theatre will open both floors with art, a glamification station, body painting and a photo booth. Bowie Ball resident DJ 40 oz. will be pushing out the best of Bowie and Bowie-esque music for everyone's listening and dancing pleasure. There will also be a costume contest.
