RALEIGH, N.C. — Our picks for what to do in the Triangle this weekend.

For the Foodies

Triangle Chili Challenge - Downtown Cary's annual competition will feature chili from local restaurant chefs. The event is Sunday noon to 4 p.m. in downtown Cary during the Food and Flea event, which includes a market, live music and food trucks.
Salt and Smoke - Acme Food and Beverage in Carrboro will host this celebration of fall in the south. There will be oysters, barbecue and music. Tickets start at $44.
Pork and Vine: Pork and Wine Festival - This pork and wine festival will help raise money for Stop Hunger Now. The event is Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at The Wine Feed on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. General admission tickets are $40 and VIP tickets are $50.
Wake Forest Food Truck Rodeo - Wake Forest will hold a food truck rodeo at the Renaissance Center in downtown noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Bottle 501 - This bottle shop located on Watkins Road in Durham will hold its grand opening Saturday with appetizers, breweries, a raffle and prizes. The 99.9 the Fan crew will also be out there with giveaways.
Southern Season Beer Extravaganza - The Chapel Hill cooking store will celebrate local beer with this event 1-4 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10.
North Carolina Wine Festival - Enjoy wine tastings, food pairings and live music at this event at City Market Sunday starting at 11 a.m. General admission advance tickets are $32.

Events with a message

Couture for a Cause - Activate Good's annual fundraiser fashion show is Saturday at the Raleigh Convention Center. Local designers team up with nonprofit partners to create ready-to-wear and couture outfits inspired by their missions. Tickets start at $35.
A Vintage Affair - Children's Flight of Hope hosts this annual fundraiser Friday evening at the TAC Air Hangar in Morrisville. There will be wine, food, live entertainment and an auction. Tickets are $100 each. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit which helps provide free air transportation to and front medication treatment facilities for seriously ill or injured children.
Fayetteville Veterans Day Parade - The annual Veterans Parade will be held in downtown Fayetteville on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. You can watch the parade live on WRAL.
Raleigh's Veterans Day Parade - WRAL's Bill Leslie will be the master of ceremonies for this event Saturday starting at 9 a.m. in downtown Raleigh.

On stage

Patti LaBelle - The R&B legend plays DPAC Saturday night. Tickets start at $55.
Durham Mardi Gras Crass Menagerie: Zoo and You - This event brings together Peter Lamb and the Wolves, The Bulltown Strutters and Shamu Garcon to play Motorco Music Hall Saturday night. There will also be Cajun dance lessons starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10.
Jon Prine - The Grammy award winning singer-songwriter plays DPAC Friday night.
John Mulaney - The comedian and "SNL" writer plays Raleigh Memorial Auditorium Friday night.
Last Comic Standing Live - The finalists from the NBC reality show will take the stage Saturday night at Carolina Theatre of Durham. Tickets start at $36.
VaudeVillain Revue: Nerdvember - Motorco Music Hall hosts this celebration of all things nerdy Friday night.

Festivals

Holly Day Fair - One of the largest holiday gift and craft shows in the region is happening this weekend at Fayetteville's Crown Expo Center. Tickets start at $9.
Whirligig Festival - This annual arts sand crafts festival is Saturday and Sunday in Wilson. There will be live music and a children's zone with free activities. Admission and parking are free.
