FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — Ever wanted to take a ride in a hot air balloon? Well, this video will show you what it looks like from the basket of the Carolina Twister. We took a ride with the Greenville, S.C., crew Saturday morning during WRAL Freedom Balloon Fest.

The video was shot with a 360-degree camera, which means you can use your mouse to click the video and move it around to see things from all angles. (NOTE: This feature will not work on mobile devices. To view the video you will need to open the Youtube app and search WRALVideo.)

We were supposed to be doing a competition flight, which means the pilot would have to do a task or two in hopes of winning some prize money. We were supposed to fly into Fleming Loop Park and drop colored bean bags on a target and throw a ring around a pole. Unfortunately, the wind wasn't cooperating, and we ended up not making it back to the park. We landed in a very nice neighborhood though!

Competition flights are scheduled to happen Sunday and Monday mornings, weather permitting.
