My husband worked at the N&O and once it became clear that Hurricane Fran was coming to Raleigh, it was too late for him to come home.
I was home alone with 2 elementary age children and our dog. Our son and the dog slept through the storm, but my daughter and I watched your updates throughout the night as we lost power, telephone
service and 9 trees fell on our home.
