From Eric in Utah

I watched Greg on TV from 1987, when my family moved to NC, until 2002 when I moved 2,000 miles away. I visit the WRAL web site weekly to see what's happening back in Raleigh, and I always check the local weather.

I watched Greg on TV from 1987, when my family moved to NC, until 2002 when I moved 2,000 miles away. I visit the WRAL web site weekly to see what's happening back in Raleigh, and I always check the local weather.

Greg always impressed me as one of the few on TV who acknowledged amateur radio's role in storm reporting and tracking. As a licensed amateur radio operator, I credit Greg for lending a degree of credibility to what hams do for the local community.

And lastly, and most importantly, I will always remember the wonderful Raleigh Ringer concerts where Greg would show up with his tuba and "jam" with the Ringers. Always a delight.

WRAL, and the triangle area, has a real gem in Greg Fishel. Not only does he work hard to keep the community safe, he spends his own time to get out and be among the people he serves. So many in TV news seem to spend so little time out among the masses these days. Greg is
impressive as a meteorologist, as a human being, as a member of the WRAL news team, and as a North Carolinian.

Thank you, Greg, for everything you do.
