Thunderstorm threat 'evaporates' for central NC
An approaching cold front might bring a few isolated showers on Wednesday evening, but nothing close to what central North Carolina saw on Saturday, when supercells produced 25 tornadoes, WRAL Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel said.

Wednesday night’s front was expected to bring thunderstorms, possibly severe, to the area, but the air mass was too dry, Fishel said.
“The thunderstorm threat has evaporated,” Fishel said.
The weak front will bring a change in temperatures.
Thursday’s high temperature is expected to reach the mid to upper 70s, while Friday’s high is expected to be in the low 60s.
Temperatures will warm back up for the weekend, with highs expected in the low to mid 80s on Saturday and Sunday.
