Wake County, N.C. — An early snowfall earned Laura Mason of Raleigh a Flexible Flyer sled signed by WRAL Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel.
Mason guessed that it would snow 1.2 inches at Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Dec. 4.
The surface observation at RDU showed that snowfall began at 1:59 p.m. Saturday and totaled .8 inches of snow.
Mason's guess was second-closest. The person with the closest guess did not enter a name and did not reply to e-mail from WRAL.
The second round of the snowfall contest has already begun. Enter the date and amount of the next measurable snow event and you could be the next winner.
