RALEIGH, N.C. — A good portion of the WRAL viewing area saw scattered showers and storms Sunday. The storms had the potential to bring heavy rain and intense lightning.

A cold front will move east of the area on Monday bringing partly sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s. In the evening, temperatures will fall to the 60s.

"We will see a bit of sunshine during the day, but any disturbance that forms to our north is going to move into the central part of the state," WRAL meteorologist Kim Deaner said. "There is the potential for this to bring more than cloud cover."

Rain is possible Tuesday with highs in the 80s.

Wednesday is going to be dry with highs in the 90s.
