Cold, rainy days ahead
Tuesday night will bring partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s as a colder, drier air mass moves into North Carolina and low- and-mid-level moisture makes it way from the west.

These two systems will come together Wednesday and create a dreary and damp forecast.
"The rain should really start to develop Wednesday afternoon,” WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said. "The rain is likely to stay through the night and into Thursday morning.”
Temperatures on Wednesday will likely start in the lower to mid-50s in the morning and fall into the 40s throughout the day.
“The rain should linger on Thursday, and then on Friday, we expect the clouds to remain with a little bit of drizzle," Maze said.
The chilly weather will stick around through Friday, with highs expected in the 40s.
The weekend could see some light rain. Temperatures are expected to stay in the 40s on Saturday and reach into the 50s by Sunday.
