Heat to roll through the weekend
Saturday will hit 95 degrees, then the mercury soars toward the century mark Sunday, setting off what could be North Carolina's longest heat wave this summer.

Don't get used to it.
"The hot air comes rolling back in tomorrow," WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said. "Don't be fooled by what we've felt the past two days."
Saturday will see a high around 95 degrees, and then begins a three-day stretch during which temperatures will hit 99 degrees, if not 100 degrees.
"We have yet to hit 100 this summer, so this may be our longest, hottest streak," Gardner said.
The heat index will enhance the dangers of hot weather: It will likely be around 100 degrees Saturday and hit 105 degrees Sunday.
"You’re going to want to take it easy outside Saturday and Sunday afternoon. If you do have something that you need to do outside and you can pick when you do it, definitely get it done early in the day," Gardner said.
For the most part, high pressure will suppress the chance of thunderstorms those days. Only a few isolated storms are possible, Gardner said.
