Pleasant, calm weekend follows Friday storms
The days after fast-moving storms ripped through the area will be much calmer, less muggy and drier. "Things are looking a little fabulous weather-wise," WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss said.

"Things are going to be calming down a bit," WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss said. "Things are looking a little fabulous weather-wise."
The cold front that produced storms Friday will move across the coastal plain Saturday and be off the coast by the afternoon. Behind it, northwesterly winds will blow in less humid air.
"It's going to feel pleasantly dry out there," Moss said.
Temperatures on Saturday and Sunday won't get above the mid 80s – far below the record 97 degrees recorded at Raleigh-Durham International Airport Friday.
Sunday could see some stray showers in eastern North Carolina if the cold front stalls and a wave of low pressure rides up it.
The temperatures will stay lower, in the mid 80s, as the work week starts. Most days will see a shot at scattered storms.
"We'll run a little cooler next week," Moss said. "Not everyone gets rain every day, but (they'll be) hit-and-miss showers."
