High humidity, possible showers, expected for Memorial Day

There will be a chance of "scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoons; otherwise, a good bit of cloud cover, very muggy and temperatures climbing into the lower 80s each of the next seven days," Johnson said.
"If you stand outside, you may get a little bit of wash with the showers," he added.
A low pressure system in the Mississippi River Valley and a high pressure system off the coast are producing southeasterly winds. And up those winds is blowing "a gravy train of moisture," Johnson said.
That train is carrying high humidity, clouds and some rain showers and storms.

"They pop up, they move on, and they die out," Johnson said.
The best chance for rain is west of the Triangle region.
"This is not one of those things where you really need to worry about canceling any outdoor plans," Johnson said. "But you’ll to want to have a backup plan just in case, because some folks are going to get a little bit of rain."
The biggest concern for those with outdoor plans?
"Dodging a couple showers, that's all you're going to have to worry about," Johnson said.
