Triangle cools down after taste of spring
Thursday's forecast high temperature is in the low 50s, and Friday's high is expected to be in the low 40s.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Say goodbye – for now, anyway – to the unseasonably warm weather that's graced the Triangle for the past few days. Get ready to pull out your coat and rain gear.

A cold front moves into the region Wednesday night, bringing with it cooler temperatures. Thursday's forecast high temperature is in the low 50s, and Friday's high is expected to be in the low 40s.
Low temperatures for the next seven days are expected to be in the upper 30s to low 40s.
Along with the cold air, there's a good chance rain could wash out any outdoor weekend plans, WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said.
Preliminary models suggest some areas in and around the Triangle, as well as the rest of the state, could see nearly 2 inches of precipitation between Friday afternoon and Tuesday.
Rain is expected to be light on Friday afternoon and become heavier over the weekend.
That's good news, Maze said, for the parts of the state which continues to experience abnormally dry to severe drought conditions.
Rain could continue into the beginning of next week. Temperatures for the start of the workweek will top out in the low to mid-50s.
