Mild-mannered weather welcomes weekend

7-Day Forecast

This weekend's weather will be mild, with temperatures in the high 70s and some cloud cover, WRAL Meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.

Friday's highs will get to about 80 degrees as sunshine begins to peak through the clouds in the afternoon.

Spotty showers are possible throughout the day. But, overall, it will be a pleasant day.

"We're going to have some mild weather at least in to the next week or so," Gardner said.

October and November are typically the driest months of the year. October's temperatures are usually a lot cooler than they have been lately.

"We're really on borrowed time," Gardner said. "It has been very pleasant. It should be cooler than it is. Our first freeze is around the corner."

  1. Almost normal day today will feel warm, then back to below normal temps through the weekend. (So, what else is new?)
