Sunny skies are expected to return Sunday, but not until after dense fog develops overnight, WRAL meteorologist Kim Deaner said.
Raleigh started seeing clearer skies by midday Saturday, about eight hours after the landfall of Tropical Storm Hanna.
Sunday looks to still be on the “muggy side,” WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.
High temperatures near 90 degrees are expected, Deaner said.
Relief is on the way toward mid-week, when another cold front approaches. The Triangle could see rain and much cooler temperatures by Wednesday.
"It will cool down significantly," Gardner said. "Thursday will feel positively fall-like."
Moisture remains in weekend forecast
