Hurricane Bertha strengthened back to a Category 2 storm during Wednesday and continued its northwesterly path , the National Hurricane Center said.

The storm's center was about 560 miles northeast of the northern Leeward Islands and about 660 miles southeast of Bermuda at 4 p.m. Tops winds were about 104 mph, the hurricane center said.

Bertha was moving toward the northwest at near 12 mph. Forecasters said they expect it to turn toward the north-northwest and decrease in speed during the next couple of days.
