Coldest Night of the Week Expected
Temperatures in the Triangle reached a high of 61 degrees under sunny skies Tuesday, but will dip back into the low-30s overnight.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Cold, dry conditions spread across the state Tuesday, prompting freeze warnings in many counties for the early hours of Wednesday, and red flag warnings in areas where gusty winds could create a fire danger.
Temperatures in the Triangle reached a high of 61 degrees under sunny skies Tuesday, but will dip back into the low-30s overnight.
“This is expected to be the coldest night of the week,” said WRAL Meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.
On Wednesday the warming trend takes hold, and temperatures will warm into the 70s and 80s through the end of the week before another cold front moves into the area, possibly causing rain on Saturday.
Gardner said the weekend front is expected to cool things off slightly, possibly keeping temperatures in the 70s.
