Raleigh, N.C. — With sunny skies and temperatures reaching a high of 81 degrees this week, the early spring-like temperatures dropped dramatically Friday, bringing with it heavy rain.
Up to 3 inches was expected in some parts of the WRAL viewing area.
The temperature was expected to reach a high of 51 by the morning and drop through the day. Lows Friday night were forecast to be in the lower to mid-30s.
The rain was expected to taper off by Friday night but cooler temperatures should linger with the high on Saturday and Sunday in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
