RALEIGH, N.C. — A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for parts of central and eastern North Carolina until 11 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service as the front approaches, scattered showers and thunderstorms will occur.
Earlier in the day, the same storm system produced strong winds and heavy rain in western North Carolina. There were also reports of hail in Wilkesboro and just north of Winston-Salem.
Wednesday's lows will range from the mid-40s to low 50s. On Thursday, breezy conditions will continue under partly sunny skies.
