Front ushers in dry air, sets up 'beautiful' Saturday weather
Cool, dry air will return to central North Carolina throughout the day Saturday as a cold front moves through the state, WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss said.

"Not much moisture associated with this front," Moss said. "The main impact is going to be some lower humidity. It's really going to be a beautiful start to the weekend Saturday with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies across much of the area."
By the time local college football games kickoff in Raleigh and Durham Saturday evening, temperatures should be in the upper 70s. Those temperatures will dip to near 70 degrees by 11 p.m.
Clouds will increase Sunday afternoon as temperatures hover in the low 80s. Low temperatures for the next several days should hover in the upper 50s to low 60s.
"We can't rule out a stray shower Sunday afternoon, but our chances are going to be in the 15 to 20 percent range, so it won't be anything significant," Moss said.
Better chances for rain are on tap for Monday and Tuesday as a disturbance moves into the area from the Gulf of Mexico. The best chance for rain will be Tuesday afternoon, when scattered afternoon thunderstorms could pop up across the Triangle.
