RALEIGH, N.C. — This weekend's weather will be gorgeous with "wall-to-wall sunshine" Saturday and most of the day Sunday, according to WRAL Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel.

Saturday's high is expected to be 56 degrees. Sunday will be 62, and the temperature will keep rising. Each day next week should be mostly sunny with "un-March-like weather" and temperatures in the 70s. Thursday the mercury could even rise to 80 degrees.

The mild weather could go on for days or weeks, according to Fishel, who said there are no big storms on the horizon. "This feels more like May," he said.

Besides the nice weather, Daylight Saving Time officially takes effect at 2 a.m. Sunday. Since 2007, Daylight Saving Time has run from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November.
