RALEIGH, N.C. — Sprinkles started over Wake County at about noon on Saturday, the leading edge of rain showers expected to continue off and on through the weekend.

A band of showers moved east and north, meaning most of the southern part of the Triangle will stay dry Saturday, WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss said.

The chance for showers increases to about 80 percent coverage by Sunday afternoon.

The temperatures are about on par with the norm for early February, reaching the high 50s in the afternoon before dipping into the mid 30s overnight.

Some sun returns for the work week, but the clouds remain.
