RALEIGH, N.C. — Triangle residents can be thankful Thursday for sunny, cool and less humid conditions.

After an overnight low that dipped below 40 degrees in some places, the forecast is for a clear and temperate day with high temperatures expected to reach the lower 60s for much of the Triangle.

"With sunshine from the beginning to the end of the day, we expect a nice warm-up," WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said.

The chill returns after sunset, and those who plan to hit the stores early for Black Friday will need a winter coat. Low temperatures Thursday night will dip into the mid 30s.

The long weekend promises more almost-perfect conditions for shopping, sports and outdoor activities. Highs will warm back into the upper 60s with skies remaining sunny. Lows both nights will fall into the upper 30s to near 40.
