Question: What is a good way to measure humidity and what is the best way to know when to run the dehumidifier?

Answer: The two types of hygrometers that are most suitable for household use are mechanical hygrometers and electronic hygrometers, either type will be fine. Put it where humidity symptoms are most obvious, or where your family spends the most time. A hygrometer does not produce instant results, give it 2 hours to stabilize. Generally, the recommended indoor humidity should range from 30%-50%.
