Pinehurst, N.C. — The collision of a cold front and the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee sparked a tornado on Tuesday in Moore County, the National Weather Service confirmed Wednesday.

The National Weather Service said several clusters of trees along a path at the resort were damaged. Trees fell on two homes, but damage was minimal. The tornado sent extensive debris, including a small boat lifted out of a nearby pond, onto two properties.
