A beautiful evening

One of the reasons for signing up for a triathlon was to force myself to exercise.   On a night like last night that really paid off.    I met Shelly for a swim/bike brick and it was a beautiful evening.   I think the temperature was perfect as we took off on our bikes.

We shot some video last night, but we were so excited/worried about our swim that we accidentally left the camera in the car.   Oh well.   I think subliminally we didn't want anybody to see us in our swim suits. Ha Ha.

I was happy with my swim.   I was able to swim the entire 10 lengths without stopping or switching to breast stroke.   I was pleased with my time too.   I know it's not impressive to real swimmers, but I was starting from square one and I can see a huge improvement in my swimming in the last six weeks.

We met a nice gal at the pool who was also training for the Rambling Rose.  I've met several gals doing the race and it's fun to have that connection.  We also met a star triathlete in the parking lot who was a big inspiration!

Our ride was beautiful last night.   The sun was setting and the temperature was nice.   Shelly gave me some good biking tips.   She is the bike-a-nista.   The only bad part of the evening was when I was heading out the door to meet Shelly.   My 2-year-old cried and said "Mommy, don't go."   I think that was harder than any hill we rode up last night.

You are so right, that is hard! Mine is not talking yet, but when I leave him to workout, it's hard initially, but once I get going I get in the groove! Keep doing what you're doing!
