Procrastination

I am a procrastinator at heart.   I'm truly a pro at putting things off so I find my training to be no different.   However,  I'm starting to feel the heat as we are quickly counting down to the date of the triathlon.

Speaking of procrastination I meant to write last week.  I had an uncomfortable run with my training partner Shelly on Wednesday.   I had been sick the week before and I guess it just took me a while to get back in the groove.   We ran two miles and the goal was no walking.   At 1.5 miles I had to walk.  I can make a lot of excuses but basically I felt pathetic.    I swam that night and also felt really sluggish.

I took a rest day on Thursday and on Friday decided to run four miles.   I feel ashamed to even say that because I have several friends who are running marathons and half marathons.  They are really cranking out some miles!   I guess you have to start somewhere though.

My four mile run went surprisingly well considering my flop on Wednesday.   Because of my knee issues I tried to run on the grass as much as possible.  There was definitely some walking involved but overall I felt pretty good about it.     I did a five mile mt. bike ride on Sunday and swam yesterday.  Today I'm hoping for another 4 mile run.

What tri are you training for? I am training for the Ramblin' Rose May 23rd and running is not my forte and I have a bit of an issue with my left knee, but I do the run/walk thing and hopefully will be OK - you will do great I am sure

takethisyou. WOW guess you have no idea how to read a forcast! When they say a chance of rain that does NOT mean that everyone is going to get rain. get a brain, get a life, go to !!!!

If you have time, read this guy's blog about curing runner's knee, part 1 through part 3.

Two little words.

let's see, your last 11 out of 12 forecasts for rain here have been as incorrect as a wet tube sock. when will you explain, on air, why it is we've headed right back into another drought and now every time you guys call for rain it just dries up and poof, NEVER APPEARS! Your forecasting most of the time is just terrible! We don't want entertainment, we want accuracy!

Don't run, WALK

Hats off to you for training and having a goal. It is so difficult to carve time out for yourself when you have small children, so easy to put your own goals aside. Good for you for finding your way back on track. Try to not be too hard on yourself if things are not exactly as you planned, you are at least still working on it.

I'll post my comments tomorrow when I find some time...:)
