How "Tweet" it is

Over the last few months, you've probably heard us here at the Big 5 talk about Twitter. It's a "microblogging" service, where you can share your thoughts with the world, 140 characters at a time. Even if you never want to "Tweet" anything, you can still use Twitter to get information from the WRAL WeatherCenter. What kind of information? I'm glad you asked!

We use the @WRALweather account (and some technical wizardry from our New Media folks!) to automatically share some great information, including:
  • Forecast updates from the WRAL WeatherCenter, twice a day
  • Severe weather alerts for our area
  • Updates on tropical storms and hurricanes
  • Alerts of new blog posts

We'll also give you an occasional behind-the-scenes look at the forecast, as well as sharing links to cool stuff we find on the web and whatever else that's on our mind.

Anything else you'd like to see us share on Twitter?

(P.S. We've got a lot of other WRAL folks on Twitter, including many of our reporters, anchors, meteorologists, and even our WRAL News Hound, Tracker!  Check us out!)
