Dry Race for the Cure

I try to write late in the week about  great weekend getaways in our area depending on the weather.    This weekend Raleigh hosts the largest road race in the state so instead of going away....lots of folks have plans to come to the Triangle.    The first race begins at 7am.   That time of day is typically muggy but relatively cool.   Expect temperatures to be in the low 70s.    The last race begins at 9am and by then temperatures will be in the upper 70s.   There may be some low clouds and fog Saturday morning but our chances for rain are quite slim.

Organizers expect more than 20,000 people at the race.  We have big team of folks here at WRAL on our team to raise money. The Komen NC Triangle affiliate raises more than $2 million per year to fight breast cancer.   Its an emotional experience for a lot of participants and is an event that really brings the community together.   Hopefully you can go out and take part.   One year I ran with my neighbors and we had a great time.   Whatever you do, have a great weekend!
