A "Streme" of Weather Knowledge for Teachers

If you're a teacher, or you know one who might be looking for a new and engaging professional development challenge, you might be interested in a great teaching program the American Meteorological Society runs called DataStreme Atmosphere.

Supported by the National Science Foundation, the project aims to assist teachers in educating their students in science, math, geography, environment and technology using weather as a teaching vehicle that encompasses that whole range of disciplines.

It is a national program, and there are already a number of teachers in our region who have reaped the benefits.

Teachers can enroll for a 13-week course, with all materials provided by the program, and upon successful completion will receive 3-hours of graduate credit from SUNY-Brockport. For much more information about the program, see the attached link!
