MIKE MOSS SAYS: Paul, For the entire year, the average morning relative humidity (around 7 am standard time) for Raleigh is 85%, while the average afternoon (around 1 pm standard time) relative humidity is 54%, and the overall annual mean is 71%. The lowest monthly morning average is in February, at 77%, while the highest is Septmeber at 91%. The lowest monthly afternoon average is 45% for April, and the highest is a tie at 58% for both August and September.
Since relative humidity is inversely proportional to temperature (all else being the same), it is typically a good bit higher around sunrise than in mid-afternoon.
