Hi Guys: I just read about a solar eclipse for Friday, will we be able to observe it here in North Carolina?

MIKE MOSS SAYS:      Susan,     Only on TV, I'm afraid! The path of totality begins around sunrise over far northeastern Canada (around 5:15 am our time) and progresses across the northern edge of Greenland, then tracks across the arctic, northern Russia and finally across Mongolia and China, ending in eastern China a little over two hours later.

I attached a map showing the path of totality (narrow dark blue band) and areas where a partial eclipse will be visible (lighter blue lines over Europe, the Atlantic and as far southwest as about Labrador). Many more details about the event are available at
