Weather

I am a 5th grade teacher at Angier Elementary and as part of the first 9 weeks of school we will be tracking hurricanes to help the students with their map skills as well as learn about the storms themselves. I was wondering if it would be possible to get some of the hurricane plotting maps for my classroom.

MIKE MOSS SAYS:       Daniel,   The maps and preparation guides should be available now at all area Harris Teeter stores if it would be convenient for you or your students to pick some up there. Another alternative is printing them out as needed. We have a link in our hurricane section at http://www.wral.com/weather/hurricanes/ labeled "Download a printable tracking map" that you may find useful. You can also find blank tracking maps available for printing at the National Hurricane Center site at http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/tracking_charts.shtml.
